Paula Marentette

I’ve loved crafting since I was a little kid, much to my Mother’s chagrin – I used to use up all of her scotch tape! I’ve spent over a decade selling at local craft shows and fairs, mostly in and around Elliot Lake. I’m originally from Montreal and lived for many years in Ohio, mostly in Cleveland. In addition to sewing whatever strikes my whimsy (mostly purses, but also dolls and stuffed animals) I love to play with paper and I use all the scotch tape I want.

Purse made of 100% cotton quilting fabric and Portuguese cork fabric.

The body of the purse is made out of dark red cork fabric. The front flap has a design printed on high-quality cotton quilting fabric. The zipper on the exterior pocket sports a “handmade” tag.

The adjustable strap is made of cotton and extends from 19″ to 36″. All of the hardware items on the bag are gunmetal finish.

This purse is just over 8″ wide at the top. 9″ wide at the bottom, and 8 1/2″ tall overall. The base of the bag is 2 1/2″ deep, and the flap measures 7″ long from its seam with the back section. The inside zippered pocket measures 4″ deep and 7″ wide.  It is interlined with interfacing to give it substance and shape.

It was made in a pet-free, smoke-free home.

This purse was made using the Lilac Mini Messenger pattern from Blue Calla Sewing Patterns.
