Lesson 1

Creating 1-3 bowls and a shallow plate
1. BOWLS Creating one to three small bowls using a pinch potting technique, by using a wooden mold (hump method) and another bowl (slumping method)
2. PLATE Making a round slab by using the hand roller, forming a perfect circle of the size of a bat and moving it to a pottery wheel.
3. Raising the edges of the slab to create the walls of a plate. Placing it on the wheel and forming the walls of a shallow plate
4. If enough time, repeating one of the methods for further improvement of newly acquired skills

Lesson 2

Trimming previously made projects and cleaning the edges, burnishing, and adding decorative elements ( texture, slip, colour, sgraffito, etc )
1. Checking the quality of greenware
2. Trimming and burnishing
3. Adding various forms of ornamentation – colour, sgraffito, in-lay, transfers. Etc
4. Sending pots for bisque firing

Lesson 3

1. Preparing bisques pots for glazing
2. Choosing various ways of final ornamentation – underglazes, washes, mixed glazes, etc – personal preference
3. Waxing or carefully cleaning bottoms of each pot before sending fit the cone 6 firing to prevent sticking to the shelves during glaze firing
4. Sending pots for final glaze firing

The time to pick up the final results will be announced
