Screen Printing with Dylan Court for Members

Dylan Court is a self-taught multi-disciplined visual artist from Orillia, Ontario. He has worked with galleries and had many art shows in Toronto (187Augusta), Barrie (Spare Room) and Orillia (STUDIO, The Brownstone) and has worked closely with painter, Travis Shilling.

Since making his first silkscreen in 2015 from a kit his parents gave him, he is now Head Printer at Pocket Print Shop. A small batch print shop focusing on merchandise for local businesses and artists.

His D.IY. approach to screen printing embraces the unpredictable nature of the art form and accepts it’s challenges as opportunities to learn new skills.

Screen Printing for Members:

Tuesday July 28

All day: 10:00 – 4:00pm (break for lunch)

Cost: no cost

Dylan Court has extensive knowledge of working in both business and art printing and will chat about his experiences as an artist and in production for Pocket Print Shop.

Dylan will:

+ review our equipment and materials and discuss requirements for printing at the club or at home

+ make recommendations regarding equipment

+ take us through the process including preparing screens and how to create screens; emulsion, vinyl and other design methods; inks; single colour vs multi colours; washing and maintenance , etc

+ review and demonstrate different methods for printing on fabric and paper.

Wednesday July 29

All day: 10 – 4:00 (break for lunch)

Cost: $40 – includes ink but bring your own tee shirt, bag, poster paper, etc

This is a day to play with our designs, ideas and ink.
