Group Artists Application for Arts on the Trail 2024
Application Fees
Applications will be open from January 15 to April 30, 2025. Please note the fee structure as outlined below:
- Applications received between January 15 to April 1, 2025 – $125.00, plus $75.00 for each additional artist (to a maximum group of 3 artists). All artists must be in the same media category.
- Applications received between April 2 to April 30, 2025 – $150.00, plus $75.00 for each additional artist (to a maximum group of 3 artists). All artists must be in the same media category.
- New for 2025 – All exhibitors are required to have appropriate insurance and provide proof prior to date of show. (Please wait until your know of your acceptance and where you will be located before purchasing insurance). Two such event insurance providers are Duuo – https://duuo.ca and PAL – https://www.palcanada.com/index.php/en-us/
Timelines
- Application, digital images, and payment must be submitted by dates as outlined in above fee structure.
- All artists will be notified of their selection status by email or phone by May 15, 2025
- Artists not selected for the tour will be issued a full refund to the account used for the original payment (either credit card, e-transfer or cheque).
- Should a selected artist cancel prior to June 1, 2025, a refund of $75 will be issued.
- No refunds will be issued after June 1, 2025.
Show Standards
- All artwork submitted for jurying must be recent (within the past year), original, quality, handcrafted workthat is designed and executed by the accepted artist, follows traditional patterns, or be a skilful adaptation of a published pattern.
- Work made from purchased kits such as paint-by-number, diamond painting and adult colouring books are not eligible for acceptance.
- Artists can only show and sell their own original artwork.
- No signage indicating discounted sales.
- Artists may only show work in categories approved by the Selection Committee. Selection of an artist’s work within one category shall not be deemed to authorize exhibition by the same artist in any other category.
- Artists must be present for the entire duration of the event, even if you sell out.
- Abusive or disrespectful behaviour toward Arts on the Trail patrons, volunteers, or fellow artists, by artists or their representatives, will result in immediate dismissal from the event with no refund forthcoming and disqualification from the Arts on the Trail tour in the future.
- The work of artists selected for the tour will be published in this year’s brochure, on the website, and social media.
Selection Process
Applicants must submit 3 to 5 separate pieces of work per media category (2 media categories maximum) as high-quality digital images. Images should be of sufficiently high quality (800 x 600 pixels min.) that will allow the Selection Committee to soundly assess and review the work. All work submitted for jurying must have been produced in the last year, and should best represent the work to be exhibited. The selection committee reserves the right to request more photos from any individual artist if necessary.
Note: Applicants may submit up to two (2) images of each piece submitted. We recommend multiple views be submitted for 3-dimensional work (e.g., sculpture, pottery, etc.).

Note: The Arts on the Trail Committee assigns selected exhibitors to halls based on hall capacity and media. Exhibitors cannot be placed in a specific hall location by request.
Registration Checklist: All of the following items MUST be included with your registration.
- 3-5 high resolution photographs of your work in digital format. Groups are required to submit 3-6 images of the combined work in each photo. Images can be uploaded directly on the application form. If there are any difficulties images can be sent direct via email or on a CD/flash drive to Elliot Lake Arts Club, 14 Elizabeth Walk, Elliot Lake, ON P5A 1Z3
- 20-30 word artist/group statement
- Registration payment upon registration by cheque, cash, e-transfer (artsonthetrail@outlook.com), or credit card (https://arts-on-the-trail.square.site/)
- Completed registration form.
NOTE:
Groups of artists or artisans of the same media (ex. wood, fibre, may register together but each member must submit individual works for the selection process. The maximum number of individuals per group is three (3). Please note that group exhibitors will collectively have no more space than an individual artist and that any advertising will only include the group name.
