Jola Klim is a Polish-Canadian, who moved from Toronto to Elliot Lake in 2013 after 30 years of teaching and learning. Since then, she has been an artist full time creating two- and three-dimensional pieces of art (stoneware hand-built vessels, on-the-wheel bowls, mostly oil painting, and boho jewellery combining the love for the Earth. Over the years, she has been fascinated by the subject of Mother Earth and the presence of all sentient beings on it, including people. She has been working on the topic of a woman (Gaia) for years by showing in her paintings her past traumas and moving on towards the future for her own sake as well as the sake of her children.
Her art stems from the beauty of abstract in pottery and paintings by experimenting with colours and texture. In pottery, she uses both stoneware and Raku clay, and in her jewellery, she creates one-of a-kind items combining her own ceramic beads, world findings, and both new and recycled silver.
